Everett has spent the past 30 years as a strategy and business development consultant to both established and emerging companies. Much of his career has been devoted to understanding and building business models to capture opportunities caused by technology change. Everett has helped companies identify and introduce new products and services in a wide range of industries. He has assisted companies in writing business plans as the basis for fundraising, partnerships/strategic alliances and for the sale of a company. From the investor side, Everett has managed acquisition searches for strategic investors and has conducted due diligence assessments for both equity investors and acquiring companies. One of his skills is in "merchandising" a business or concept to appeal as an investment concept to particular target investment groups.
He started his consulting career at Arthur D. Little, the premier technology and management consulting firm. Over the course of his 17 years there, he led the firm's strategy, its industrial products and its organizational practices. He also was instrumental in rebuilding the firm's internal training program, where he served as an instructor in many courses. Following Arthur D. Little, he joined Corporate Decisions, Inc., (now Oliver Wyman) where he helped pioneer the concept of business design. For the past ten years, he has headed his own strategy consulting firm and has maintained a strategic partnership with Fletcher Spaght, Inc., the largest strategy and market research firm serving venture capital and other equity investors.
In other areas of consulting, Everett has served as an advisor to the trade association representing home appliances and other energy-consuming products during energy regulatory proceedings. He is the lead author of a paper for the Pew Center on Global Climate Change outlining ways to involve homeowners in purchasing more energy-efficient appliances.
He created a field study course and supervised student consulting teams at the Harvard Business School and serves on the board of the Harvard Business School Alumni Association Community Action Partners (CAP) non-profit consulting organization. He has served as a Belmont Day School trustee where he led the long-range planning effort.
Everett holds an MBA from Harvard and a BA from Yale.
